I'm Josh. I read, I write, and I like to build websites. This seemed like a perfect balance of those three hobbies so I built this site. Every list on Read & Recommend is curated from my own reading, reader recommendations, and deep dives into what people are genuinely talking about in book communities.

I intentionally chose a retro 90s theme for this site because the internet is full of garbage. Flashy sites with thin content. I wanted to create something different. Something that predates the rapidly necrotizing dead internet.

What You'll Find Here

I write recommendations about books I've read and books I've researched. My genres of choice change with the wind. Fiction, nonfiction, classics, contemporary, horror, literary fiction, fantasy, romance, science fiction. I have too much ADHD to stay in a lane. The answer is all of them.

How I Curate

My lists combine:

Books I've personally read
Recommendations from readers and book communities
Literary research — finding the books that deserve more attention than they get

I'm upfront about this: I haven't read every book on every list. But every book is here because I've done the work to understand why it belongs. This site also serves as my personal TBR list.
